"In the middle of the Lewitz, a hunting lodge in the style of a log cabin was built in 1705 by order of Duke Friedrich Wilhelm. In 1791, it was replaced by a three-winged half-timbered building by Duke Friedrich Franz I according to a design by Johann Heinrich von Seydewitz. Today, nothing can be seen of the avenues that once radiated from the hunting lodge. The connection to the former residential palace of Ludwigslust is still recognisable and partly accessible by car. Many personalities once visited the hunting lodge. Among them: Kaiser Wilhelm I and Wilhelm II as well as the Reich Chancellor Otto von Bismarck."
